From classroom teacher to caregiver to founder.

Maria's journey began in the Philippines, where she earned a Bachelor of Elementary Education and spent five years teaching and tutoring. It was there she developed her core belief: that every lasting relationship between teacher and student, caregiver and family, business and client is built on mutual respect and trust.

Driven by curiosity and ambition, Maria spent over twelve years working as a nanny across Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and finally Vancouver. In each country, she immersed herself in new cultures and new families, building a depth of hands-on experience no classroom could teach.

When she settled in Vancouver, families began asking her to help them find nannies too. Maria recognised the need and founded Reliable Nanny & Caregiver Placement Agency (RNCPA) in August 2005, with one commitment: to find the right match for every family, and make sure both employer and caregiver are genuinely happy.

Over time, more families came to her seeking care for aging parents. Maria responded by founding Reliable Senior Care, dedicated to helping seniors in the Lower Mainland live confidently and age gracefully in their own homes.

That same instinct  to see an unmet need and build something real to address it  carried her forward. She went on to establish Reliable Academia Service for newcomers and international students seeking work that honours their qualifications; Burlily, a fine gold jewellery brand rooted in craftsmanship and lasting value; and LillyTax, helping individuals and small businesses navigate taxes with confidence.
